Our Story

From a tailoring academy in Romania to Tamiami Trail.

The craft has passed from one generation to the next, by hand, for over fifty years.

1973

George Lup enters a three-year Professional Tailoring Academy in Romania, graduating by designing and constructing a custom suit — then takes a position with a German maker of jackets, trousers and sport coats, where he meets Dolly, a seamstress at the same company. They marry.

1991

George and Dolly emigrate to Florida — George as Master Tailor for Ervin Berlin Men's Shop in Hollywood, Dolly as seamstress at Bernini Men's Shop in Plantation.

2001

They open their first shop in Fort Lauderdale — later opening a second in Naples after vacationing there and falling for the town.

2002

Their son Benjamin joins the business and trains under his parents for three years.

2005

Benjamin takes over the Fort Lauderdale shop.

2010

Benjamin moves to Naples as a Master Tailor — the name clients now ask for by name.
